Tendinitis problem? Help please, cant play my guitar?

OK I am 23 and, playing guitar is my life and I went to the doctor and I do have tendinitis in both arms from my wrist, forearm, bicep, and shoulder and triceps. Well the doctor of course said of course to ice which helps and anti-flam. Which helps but, my cousins a physical therapist and told me to stretch and i did way more damage, now in my right arm i have it the worse by far and it made my fingers swell from stretching. Anybody have any idea if i will ever get over this and be able to play my guitar again? and im not working right now so i can rest it for about 5 or 6 months till school. Please help i greatly would appreciate it Thanks, Dennis
