How long after bronchitis does the wheezing go away?

The last two months Bronchitis has came and gone 2 times on me. i started to wheeze a little bit. The worst my bronchitis got the worst my breathing and wheezing got. I used to smoke alot for the last 2 yrs. I just recently quit for like 2 weeks. I know im not addicted so i wont ever take another puff. I had recently went to the doctors and she said my lungs "sound" fine. I dont think i have asthma since ive never had it before i dont know if it is asthma. Will the wheezing go away in time? Why am i wheezing?
